Alessandra and Her Family Enjoy A Beach Break in Maui!

Victoria’s Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio, her fiance Jamie Mazur and their daughter Anja Louise enjoy a family vacation on the beaches of Hawaii.

Alessandra, wearing a cream colored bikini, and Jamie went snorkeling while daughter Anja played in the sand with their nanny. The family spent about an hour swimming in the warm water, building sandcastles and hanging out in the sun.

While many would say that her shape is perfect, the model mama recently told Fox news she misses having the more rounded tush she gained while pregnant.

“I wish I had a bigger butt. A little bit more booty wouldn’t hurt.
When I was pregnant I had a much bigger booty and I was very happy with
it.”

Baby Doing Well After Open Heart Surgery

Four month old baby, Tayla Geddes is recovering after undergoing open heart surgery. She was born with three holes in her heart and a missing septum.

Doctors at Randburg’s Sunninghill Hospital performed a six hour operation, opening Tayla’s chest and inserting three patches to repair the defects in her heart. After the Doctors closed her chest her blood pressure drop drastically. Doctors were forced to re-open it to reduce swelling in her body and heart.
After surgery Tayla was put on a respirator in the intensive care unit at Sunninghill hospital. Where the swelling in her heart and body decreased and her heart began functioning on its own, which allowed surgeons to re-close her chest on Wednesday morning (July 28).

Though Tayla’s surgery was a success, she is not out of the woods yet. She is already scheduled to return to the hospital for surgery in two weeks. The second surgery will correct a birth defect in her sphincter value (which will prevent her stomach contents from flowing up into her esophagus). As a result of the defect Tayla is suffering from reflux and is fed through her nose.

Cybex Solution X-fix Booster Seats Recalled

Certain Cybex Solution X-fix model booster seats are being recalled
because they contain an incorrect warning label. The recalled seats
were manufactured during February 2010.

The defect consists of an incorrect warning statement related to
securing an unoccupied booster seat. This statement is inconsistent
with Cybex recommended practice, which is to always secure an
unoccupied booster with the vehicle seat belt.

If a caregiver follows the warning as written, there is an increased
risk that the unoccupied booster seat could strike a vehicle occupant
and cause injury in a severe crash.

The incorrect warning statement appears in the owner’s manual and on
the headrest warning label. In a sharp turn, crash, or sudden stop, an
unsecured booster seat can be thrown around and could injure vehicle
occupants.

Regal Lager will notify caregivers and provide a new label to be
affixed over the old label and owners will also receive a new ownerżs
manual free of charge. The safety campaign is expected to begin on or
about August 10, 2010.

Owners may contact Regal Lager toll-free at 1-800-593-5522 between
8:30 am and 5:30 pm EST. Regal Lager’s recall campaign number is
2010-01.

The mom to be, who stars as Calleigh Duquesne, on the popular CBS drama confirmed her pregnancy to E! News and revealed her baby bump will not be part of her crime show’s upcoming season.

“They’re
not writing it in,” the blonde beauty told the website. “I don’t know
why, except they said that maybe the audience would worry about
Calleigh running around with her gun. Like, ‘Oh! It’s not safe!’ It’s
gonna be a challenge, I think, for us to cover it, ‘cause I still have
a ways to go.”

Emily, however, had a few ideas of her own regarding how to hide her blooming belly.

“What should I do? Should I hide behind Horatio (David Caruso)? Maybe a body? An ambulance?” she laughed.

The actress also revealed that she knows the sex of the baby, but the couple is “keeping it a secret.”

As for names, Emily said she and Paul have each thrown a couple names out there, but nothing that works for either So they’ve quit talking about it.

Hopefully that will change as her due date gets closer.  Congratulations to the couple.  We look forward to seeing how they are able to hide the pregnancy this Fall!

Marriott Introduces ‘Nickelodeon Your Stay’ {$20 Amazon GIVEAWAY}

While going on vacation is exciting, staying in a hotel can be overwhelming for kids because it lacks the comforts of home.

Starting July 1st, familes can arrange to “Nickelodeon Your Stay” at nearly 2,000 hotels with the Marriott brands. The luxury hotel chain is offering all kids free activities including a Nickelodeon bracelet with a code to access free online games at Nick.com, and an activity book with challenging puzzles and mazes.  Kids who eat at the hotels’ restaurants also receive a placemat featuring favorite Nickelodeon characters, SpongeBob SquarePants and Dora the Explorer.

To get an idea of what a ‘Nickelodeon Your Stay’ would be like, Marriott sent us one of their kid’s packages to see.  Available as an upgrade package at several of Marriott’s brands, including Courtyard, Fairfield Inn & Suites, SpringHill Suites, Residence Inn and TownePlace Suites locations for $10, this fun filled bag includes a SpongeBob activity bag and splash ball, Nickelodeon sunglasses, and a 3-D build-your-own SpongeBob craft. The package costs $20 at Marriott and JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts and kids get all the above items and a special SpongeBob SquarePants or Dora the Explorer pillowcase and storybook.

This well thought out package is a great way for kids to customize their own vacation.  Having their own pillowcase and storybook is nice for bedtime, while the included bag, sunglasses and splashball will make pool time a blast.

Even though we aren’t on vacation my boys have loved this whole pack.  The pillowcase is now the center of my son’s bed, the sunglasses never come off and the story has been in the nightime rotation since it arrived.

Not only will this be great while your away, but it would be a souvenir that would last for years after!

Visit www.nickelodeonyourstay.com for more information on the promotion and to start booking. This site also has free, downloadable, Nickelodeon themed travel games under the free goodies section, including a travel journal, travel bingo and coloring sheets.

GIVEAWAY: This review was written as part of a blog campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Marriott and received a Nickelodeon gift pack to facilitate my candid review. Mom Central also sent me a gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate, which we will be giving away to one reader!

Featured Review: Milk Nursingwear

I have been breastfeeding, with a few minor interruptions, for more than five years. One thing that I have come to appreciate beyond words is really good nursing wear. It’s great when it’s functional and made well enough to last more than a few months. It’s even better when it looks great too. Milk Nursingwear offers all that and more.

I have had the good fortune to find Milk as I’m nursing child number four. My only regret is that I didn’t have Milk sooner. I love everything about Milk, love, love, love. The line offers tops, dresses and some very cute sleepwear.  The styles are really terrific. No dowdy, frumpy or utilitarian tops here. The are all quite stylish and come in a variety of lovely colors. Too many companies seem to think that if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding that you suddenly have a need to dress in baby blue or pale pink. Personally I have never had that need, so I am thrilled to find grown up colors that I am happy to wear every day.

Designed by a mother of four, these clothes are not only attractive, but very functional. There are several styles of nursing openings, such as empire, wrap top openings and double-layer, which pulls up from the bottom. All are so well styled that you will not feel like you’re going out in a nursing top. You will feel like you’re going out in a nice top that makes it easier to nurse, especially if you’re a bit iffy about nursing in public. Even one good well designed nursing top or dress will make it easier for you to nurse in public, since you don’t have to worry about what you’re lifting or unbuttoning, what’s showing and getting it all closed back up again, especially when you have a looky-loo baby that is popping off more than on. If you feel the need to be discreet, Milk tops make it very easy. For example, the Empire tops have an internal wrap-styled layer that makes it easy to keep as much as possible covered up. I personally don’t worry very much about being discreet, but these tops are also great if you feed your baby in a carrier, which I do much of the time. The empire and wrap styled openings are perfect if you spend much of your day wearing your baby.  Another plus with the Milk line, several of these styles could easily be worn while pregnant, so, not only do you get a bit more mileage out of them, you can feel just as great while pregnant as you do while breastfeeding. If you happen to find yourself pregnant and nursing, as I have three times, Milk will make you very happy.

I tried out both the sleeveless babydoll nursing top (currently $34.99) in spring green and the flirty halter dress ($46) in teal. Both are amazing. Gorgeous colors, super comfortable, look great, well made and so functional. My 5 year old son loves both. He said they are very pretty and that I should wear the princess top and ballerina dress all the time. If they can even please a 5 year old who wants his mommy to be pretty, I think that’s pretty good. Both could easily be worn while pregnant and would look great. You can see the dress on a pregnant model on the Milk site. Both are also very flattering for postpartum wear since they are not super snug, but still hang nicely as you get smaller. I am eight months postpartum now and I love them both. I was a little nervous about the dress at first, but once I put it on I was sold. It has a built in shelf bra which can hold nursing pads and the empire opening, yet nobody will know you’re wearing a nursing dress unless you want them to know.

The better your nursing wear makes you feel and the easier it makes your day- whether it’s feeding at home or on the go- the more likely you are to continue breastfeeding for as long as possible. And that is really what is most important. The quality, styling and functionality are all top-notch. Even better, the prices are excellent compared to many lines of nursing wear. And with Milk, what you get for the price is more than worth it. If you’re looking for nursing wear that will make you feel as good as it works, look no further than Milk. – Kiersten, Staff Writer
