US Magazine is reporting that Halle Berry and beau Gabriel Aubry have named their newborn daughter Nahla Ariela Aubry.

Pamela Redmond Satran, the co-author of The Baby Name Bible and Cool Names for Babies explains origin of the name and the Disney connection:

“Nahla is one of those names that is occasionally found among people of African or Arabic descent, but isn’t commonly used in any particular culture.”

“Nala was the name of Simba’s lioness mate in Disney’s The Lion King, so it kind of has an African flavor as opposed to a genuine African pedigree, and Ariela’s “Disney antecedent,” she says, is Ariel in The Little Mermaid.”

Nahla Ariela Aubry arrived at 10:17am on Sunday morning weighing 7lb 4 oz’s.

Congratulations to Punky Brewster star Soleil Moon Frye and her husband, Jason Goldberg on the safe arrival of their second baby – a girl!

The baby, named Jagger, was born Monday in Los Angeles and weighed 8 lbs., 6 oz. The couple also have a 2-year-old daughter, Poet Sienna Rose Goldberg.

“Soleil had a wonderful experience, and both she and the baby are doing great,” says the rep.

Last October, Soleil, along with partners Paige Tolmach and Beth Birkett, opened the eco-friendly baby boutique The Little Seed in Los Angeles.

BBC Radio 1 presenter Sara Cox proudly showed off her newborn son Isaac yesterday.

 

Isaac, her first child with advertising executive Ben Cyzer, was born on Monday at a London hospital weighing a healthy 7lb 12oz.

The new mom also has a three-year-old daughter, Lola, from her first marriage to DJ Jon Carter.

Congratulations to Melissa Joan Hart and husband Mark Wilkerson on the safe arrival of their second baby.

Braydon Hart Wilkerson was born at 3 p.m. in Los Angeles after 10 hours of labor, weighing 7 lbs., 3 oz., rep Brad Taylor told People Magazine.

“This has been a long but exciting pregnancy, and we along with Mason are excited to add to the Wilkerson clan,” Melissa said. Mark added: “Melissa and I are the proudest parents ever and this is the best thing that has happened to us this year!”

Mark and Melissa also have a two year old son, Mason.

Brooke Burke Welcomes Baby Boy!

Congratulations to Brooke Burke and David Charvet on the safe arrival of their new baby.

Brooke delivered her first son – and second child with fiancé David Charvet – at 11:31 a.m. Wednesday. The baby weighed 6 pounds, 5 ounces and was 20 1/4 inches long. “Mommy and baby are both doing great and healthy,” Brooke’s rep Nancy Iannios tells In Touch exclusively. David adds, “and he’s really, really cute.”

The couple have a daughter, Heaven Rain, who was born in January 2007, and Brooke also has two girls – Neriah, 7, and Sierra, 5 – with her first husband, plastic surgeon Dr. Garth Fisher.
