British Couple Abandons IVF Twins After They Are Delivered The ‘Wrong Sex’

A British Couple comprised of a 59-year-old mother and 72-year-old father shocked everyone when the told horrified hospital workers they did not want the “wrong sex” babies immediately after the Caesarean section in the UK.

The babies were conceived in India with fertility treatment. After the procedure the pair returned to England for the birth.

The husband then asked how soon it would be before his wife could try IVF again in the hope of getting a boy to continue the family name.

Female babies are often abandoned in India for being the wrong sex.

The mother — one of Britain’s oldest— discharged herself against the advice of doctors who told her she should stay for more than a week after her operation.

This story shocks me.

Who goes through 40 weeks of pregnancy to abandon their babies minutes after delivery?

I guess someone forgot to tell this couple that you pick your friends not your family!

Baby For Sale in Salt Lake City??

Police in Salt Lake City are looking someone who listed a 6-month-old baby for sale on an Internet site.

The baby girl was listed in the Baby and Children items classified section of KUTV.com for $6,560, according to a statement from Salt Lake police.

The child’s condition was listed as “Used” and the sellers name was Pauline Burgman. “We are giving up a 6 months old baby girl for adoption,” the classified stated. “She is so beautiful and affectionate with so much love to offer. Are you looking to adopt? Then consider this a dream come true.”

The adorable baby(pictured left), who was listed on Saturday, appeared on the classified ads section for only a short while before KUTV.com noticed and removed it.

Police are not sure if this is a prank or if the parents would like to put their daughter up for adoption, but don’t know how to go about it.

Anyone with information can contact police at 799-3000.This is not the first time a couple has tried to sell their baby. In December, a couple tried to sell their baby for $30 outside a Petsmart. SOURCE

Couple Tries To Sell Baby For $30

A horrible couple in Florida have been charged with child neglect after they offered their baby to shoppers in the parking lot outside of Pet Smart.

Police say a mother wasn’t here to buy, she was here to sell. Witnesses tell us the mother was holding her infant, looking for anyone willing to pay the asking price of 30 bucks.

The back of their SUV had stickers on it, with one reading “The Reason for the Season” along with a picture of Baby Jesus.

This poor kid is going to grow up knowing that its parents practically tried to give him/her away.

Some people just don’t get it. Babies are an amazing gift and a lot of hard work. There are places to bring a baby when you can no longer look after them. The parking lot of a busy shopping mall is not one of them.

Update: Shoplifting Suspect Who Left Baby in TJ Maxx Turns Herself in

We reported yesterday on a horrible story of a mom that abandoned her baby because she was suspected of shoplifting.

Today Newsday writes that the Bronx mother has turned herself into police.

Lieutenant Chris McNerney says 39-year-old Suzette Gruber arrived at the police station Tuesday morning with her attorney. McNerney said she was to be charged with child abandonment and endangering the welfare of a child.

Police say Gruber and another woman were suspected of shoplifting at the discount clothing store on Monday. When a security guard approached she ran leaving the baby in the carriage. However police said she also left behind indentifying information.

Police said a man claiming to be the baby’s father went to police headquarters Monday night with a birth certificate, but officers wouldn’t release the child to him.

The baby has been placed with Westchester Child Protective Services.

What I didn’t know yesterday was that the baby is only 8 months old!! Hearing that really broke my heart.

Could you imagine leaving your 8 month old baby in the middle of a store because you needed to flee the scene?

Baby Abandoned in TJ-Maxx After Woman Suspected of Shoplifting

At the end of August I reported on a toddler that was abandoned in Walmart after his father was suspected of shoplifting.

While reading the story, I thought it was the craziest thing I had ever heard.

Well I guess this is common practice for thieves because a women left an infant in TJ-Maxx over the weekend after being suspected of shoplifting.

The infant was left in his stroller as the women bolted from the TJ-Maxx on North Central Avenue just before 6 p.m.

Store personnel suspected the woman was shoplifting, Greenburgh police Lt. Desmond Martin said at the scene.

“The mother panicked, or the guardian panicked, and just took off,” he said. “It’s sad.”

A man Martin said was the baby’s father came to the scene around 7 p.m., and was taken in a cruiser to police headquarters. He was not under arrest.

Police searched the immediate area for the woman, but did not find the women.

The baby was taken by ambulance to police headquarters about 7 p.m. Martin said the county’s Child Protective Services was being called.

Baby Abandoned TWICE in One Day

A mom that was reportedly on drugs, gave her baby to a man who gave her a ride.

Once he arrived home, he and his wife wrapped the baby in a blanket, attached a note, drove to a Portage hospital and left the baby on an emergency room counter.

The 5-month-old girl, who was dirty and hungry but otherwise in good heath, was placed in foster care after Sunday’s events, police said.

“The main thing is the baby is safe,” said LaPorte Police Chief of Detectives Dennis Behenna.

Police said Michael Williams was driving home from work in LaPorte early Sunday when he was stopped by a woman he knows holding her baby. She asked the man to give her a ride to Gary, and when they arrived the woman exited the car and asked Williams to take her baby.

A hospital worker found the baby and called child protective services, who in turn placed the baby in temporary foster care.

The child’s grandmother later reported her daughter and the child missing. The mother checked into a Gary hospital for treatment, police said, and later called police wanting her child back.

These horrible stories really stress me out. I could never bear to be without my son, let alone hand him off to some random person. SOURCE

Mother Gets 30 Days For Leaving Baby Alone

A Redwood City woman was sentenced to a month in jail Tuesday for leaving her infant home alone in March while she pillaged a local Target store for more than $600 worth of baby formula, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office.

Kamara Vasilakos, 25, pleaded no contest in San Mateo County Superior Court in April to felony grand theft and misdemeanor child endangerment after getting caught stealing $620 worth of baby formula from a Redwood City Target store on March 25.

Vasilakos reportedly told police she left her 8-month-old child at home with another family member while her husband was at softball practice, but a welfare check found the baby alone, crying in the crib, according to the district attorney’s office.

A subsequent investigation revealed that Vasilakos “had been on a binge of stealing baby formula and diapers” and then selling them on Craigslist, the district attorney’s office reported.

A judge sentenced Vasilakos to three years of probation and 30 days in county jail. She was ordered to report to jail on Aug. 11.

Some people amaze me. There are parents right now praying for their children to get better or to survive another day and this women leaves her healthy full term baby unattended.

Kids Take A Car Trip, In The Trunk

An Oregon man on vacation with his family is accused of putting two of his four children in a car trunk because the vehicle was too small to hold all of them.

Douglas Willy, 40, was arrested Saturday after police received a tip from a person who saw the family at a gas station, authorities said. He was charged with two counts of reckless endangerment.

Willy, his fiancee and their four children were taking a trip but the vehicle did not fit all six passengers. So, police said, he decided two of the children would ride in the trunk to avoid taking a second vehicle.

Police said a 12-year-old and 13-year-old were in the trunk, and had been riding inside for about 20 miles.

The woman took the children home on Saturday. Authorities said Willy was released without bail Sunday.

A telephone message left Sunday at the Willy’s home was not immediately returned.

Parents of Formerly Conjoined Twins Accused of Abusing One of Them

Abusing any child is sickening to me, but a special needs child who has overcome SO much is unforgivable.

FoxNews is reporting that a Minnesota couple has been accused of abusing one of their two conjoined twins who underwent separation surgery last fall at the Mayo Clinic.

Valerie J. James, 20, and Robert L. Heck III, 27, of Mankato were charged with one count each of felony first-degree assault and aiding and abetting the alleged crime on the 4-month-old, said police Lt. Dan Muyres.

Rochester, Minn., police were scheduled to hold a news conference at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Reached at home Wednesday, Heck denied the allegations but said he would not comment further until he spoke with his attorney.

James gave birth to the boys — named Jacob and Jordan — in November. Joined face-to-face at the abdomen, they immediately underwent successful separation surgery.

It wasn’t immediately clear which child was injured. One of the boys had remained in the hospital after the other boy was released Jan. 3 to his parents, who had been staying at a Ronald McDonald House in Rochester.

Blue Earth County has filed petitions against James and Heck in an effort to end their parental rights for the twins and an older daughter of the couple.

According to a criminal complaint, that boy was returned to Mayo Eugenio Litta Children’s Hospital Jan. 11 because of some swelling.

Doctors found eight fractures of the boy’s legs and 16 rib fractures. The complaint said some injuries appeared to have begun healing, while others were newer.

Doctors did a test to see if the boy had a genetic disorder that could cause his bones to be more susceptible to breaking, but the test came back negative, according to the criminal complaint. Muyres said a doctor told police it would take a large amount of force to inflict the injuries because of the flexibility of infants’ limbs.

The complaint said a former girlfriend had obtained an order of protection against Heck in 2004 after she accused him of hurting her three children. The ex-girlfriend said her 3-year-old reported being struck by Heck; that her 18-month-old son suffered a broken leg and head bruises while in his care; and that her 3-month-old had burns on her fingers that doctors attributed to cigarettes.

It is a sad day when someone feels the need to hurt a tiny helpless infant who does not have any concept of anything negative.
