The star of the new TV series “Canterbury’s Law” was also overheard at the U.S. Open the other night as she cheered on Andy Roddick saying she’s been hiding her growing belly with tricks created by the costume team, because her pregnancy is not written into the script. Margulies said she’ll work until she’s 7½ months along and then take a “long break” for the baby. “I’m excited to have him,” she said. “Right now I’m looking forward to my third trimester.”

Disney Will Independently Test It’s Toys for Lead

Following three high-profile recalls by Mattel Inc. (MAT) this summer involving millions of Chinese-made, lead-tainted toys, The Walt Disney Company (DIS) will begin independently testing toys featuring its characters, company officials said.Disney planned to inform Mattel and other toy makers about the program — which will include random tests of products already on store shelves — on Monday.

“It sends the message that we are looking over their shoulders,” Disney consumer products division chairman Andy Mooney told The New York Times, which first reported the company’s testing plans.

The testing represents a departure from licensers’ usual involvement in quality control, which is normally left to manufacturers.

Analysts said the move demonstrates companies’ eagerness to insulate their brands from product safety fears as the holiday gift-giving season approaches.

“Anything that is going to restore consumer trust has got to be a good thing,” said Sean McGowan, a toy industry analyst at Wedbush Morgan Securities.

The tests, set to begin within the next two weeks, will involve some of the more than 65,000 children’s products from around 2,000 vendors of toys, jewelry, furniture and other Disney items, consumer products division spokesman Gary Foster said.

Disney executives signed off on the plan Thursday, days after Mattel, the world’s largest toy maker, announced that it was recalling some 800,000 Chinese-made toys — its third major recall of the summer

An earlier Mattel recall this summer involved some 436,000 cars based on “Sarge,” a character in the Disney movie “Cars,” which were believed to contain lead paint.

With the number of recalls for childrens products being issued, I think that it is smart of a company as big as Disney to control the quality of their products by doing independant testing.

Lead has also been a huge issue with jewelry lately. Parents deserve to feel safe when they are buying something for their kids and the companies that manufacturer products

Paris Hilton Confirms What Everyone Already Knows

Late Saturday night Paris Hilton announced what everyone knows, but no one is confirming at an Aguilera-hosted party at LAX Nightclub in the Luxor.

“Congratulations to the most beautiful pregnant woman in the world. You’re gorgeous.”Aguilera, who has never confirmed being pregnant despite a visible bump beneath her pink chiffon mini-dress, appeared temporarily shocked as she sat in her perch in the elevated VIP booth. She sank her head into the shoulder of husband Jordan Bratman as her friends looked stunned.

But she quickly recovered, and the two looked at each other and laughed as the crowd – which included Adrien Grenier, Melanie Brown, Criss Angel and cast members from The Hills – erupted in applause. (Aguilera’s rep declined to comment).

Hilton’s surprise announcement, came after she earlier put her hand on Aguilera’s stomach and the pair giggled.
