Cate Blanchett keeps us guessing about whether or not she is expecting as she exited the Carlyle Hotel in NYC on Saturday night.

The Elizabeth star spoke recently about having her kids on set during the filming of her new movie.

Her young son dressed up as a knight and protected her on the set of her latest movie.

She said that her five-year-old son was so obsessed with knights the assistant director kindly let him play the part off screen.

Cate revealed to Bang Showbiz, “It was fantastic to have the kids on set.

Dash, my eldest, who was then not quite five, was into knights at the time and his godmother had given him a plastic knight outfit.

“Tommy Gormley kindly said he could stand and protect me. So in the scene where Clive Owen is talking about the immensities and I’m sitting on the throne, I’m actually looking through an archway at my son standing in a knight’s costume protecting me.

“He stood for like five minutes and each take was different for him. He was a natural, unfortunately.”

Fetal Surgery Saves Baby After Water Breaks Early

Doctors in Germany performed a first-of-a-kind surgery in the womb and saved the life of an unborn baby after her mothers water broke at 20 weeks.

When the mother’s fetal membranes burst, the unborn child’s chances of surviving birth were slim, said doctors at the Bonn University Clinic in Germany. Not only was there a high risk of infection, the baby’s lungs stopped growing, and she most likely would have suffocated after birth.

In an effort to save the unborn child, the doctors performed surgery in the womb to stimulate lung growth. They inserted a ballpoint pen-sized fetoscope through a small opening in the mother’ stomach and, guided by a camera and ultrasound, moved the device into the mouth and trachea of the unborn baby.

The doctors then inflated a miniature balloon that blocked the respiratory channel in order to prevent drainage of fluid produced by the prenatal lung. The resulting build up of fluid pressure stimulated lung growth.

The baby girl, who was born in the 33rd week of pregnancy, is now a year old and in good health.

“The prenatal operation only takes one or two hours. Competent follow-up care of the children after birth is at least as important for their healthy survival,” Thomas Kohl, head of the German Center of Fetal Surgery & Minimally Invasive Therapy at Bonn University Clinic, said in a prepared statement.

The doctors described the procedure in an article published Oct. 29 in the journal Fetal Diagnosis and Therapy.

It is tastefully decorated with pink safari ribbon, green polka dot ribbons and silk gerber daisies.

Aside from it being a great idea as a centre piece for a baby shower, diaper cakes are an ideal gift for second, third or fourth time moms.

Even the mom that has everything, still needs to diaper her baby. An elegant cake like the one pictured is a nice way to be practical and creative.

Baby Abandoned in TJ-Maxx After Woman Suspected of Shoplifting

At the end of August I reported on a toddler that was abandoned in Walmart after his father was suspected of shoplifting.

While reading the story, I thought it was the craziest thing I had ever heard.

Well I guess this is common practice for thieves because a women left an infant in TJ-Maxx over the weekend after being suspected of shoplifting.

The infant was left in his stroller as the women bolted from the TJ-Maxx on North Central Avenue just before 6 p.m.

Store personnel suspected the woman was shoplifting, Greenburgh police Lt. Desmond Martin said at the scene.

“The mother panicked, or the guardian panicked, and just took off,” he said. “It’s sad.”

A man Martin said was the baby’s father came to the scene around 7 p.m., and was taken in a cruiser to police headquarters. He was not under arrest.

Police searched the immediate area for the woman, but did not find the women.

The baby was taken by ambulance to police headquarters about 7 p.m. Martin said the county’s Child Protective Services was being called.
