Minnesota Mom Gives Birth To Quintuplets

Jessie Mrozek, a Sartell, Minn. mom gave birth Thursday to a rare set of quintuplets, one day short of three months before their full-term due date.

The five babies — three boys and two girls — were born at 7:52 a.m. Thursday to Jessie, 29, and her husband Rory, 30, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis. This is the same hospital that the Morrison Sextuplets were born at as well.

The babies weigh between 1 pound, 15 ounces and 2 pounds, 10 ounces. Each baby is between 12 and 14 inches long.

Doctors told the Mrozeks that four of the babies have a 95% chance of survival based on their birth weight and gestation period of 27 weeks, the couple said.

Steve Linders, spokesman for Abbott Northwestern, confirmed that Jessie Mrozek delivered five babies Thursday morning. She is recovering and doing well, he said.

“The babies are essentially as we would expect given the length of Mrs. Mrozek’s gestation,” said Allison Sandve, media relations lead for Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota. The babies are the neonatal intensive care unit of Children’s hospital, which works closely with Abbott.

Lainey’s water broke at 4 a.m. Thursday. That forced the emergency Caesarean section.

The five babies Jackson Nelson, Lainey Ann, Matthew James, Breah Lynn and Nathan Dean were born in that order between 7:45 and 7:57 a.m.

When the parents saw Lainey was not getting enough oxygen to her heart so she was pale and the doctors didn’t think she was going to make it.

They told Jesse that she would only be able to hold her foot. The new mom must have the touch because as soon as she touched her, her stats went up.

“She needed her mom,” Jessie said.

Three sets of quintuplets have previously been born in Minnesota, according to Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota. In two sets, all five of the children survived. In another set, one of the children died.

Remaining Soldani Sextuplets Doing Well

It has been a month since Brian and Gracie Soldani welcomed their 3 beautiful babies.

The couple was expecting sextuplets, but lost three babies just before their birth.

The remaining three babies have been in the NICU growing for the last month and Gracie reports on her blog that 2 are feeding by bottle, which is a big step towards them coming home.

We have celebrated our babies one month birthday, Bruno and Lucia are now on bottle/breast feedings, Santino had his last course of antibiotics and we are waiting see if he is in the clear.

At least one baby still appears to need some assistance with breathing and one is still in isolation being treated for a bacterial infection. It is nice to hear that things are going well for this family after their tragic start.

Oopsy Daily Peel and Stick Wall Art

Every parent wants their baby’s nursery to be perfect.

Some hire artisans to paint elaborate fairy tail murals on the wall to create a unique space for their bundle.

The only downfall about that is when your child outgrows the original theme, you may have to paint over a piece of art you have paid hundreds of dollars for.

Oopsy Daisy has introduced peel and stick art that resemble the work of a stencil artist.

Their Elephant and Monkey Trio measures 48″x60″. It comes with a sweet baby elephant, a family of monkeys, plus some jungle grass and vines to complete the look.

Premium vinyl cutout stickers won’t damage walls, are re positionable and easy to adhere.

Reasonably priced at $89 at the Oopsydaisy website.
