Baby Born Drunk: Blood Alcohol Six Times Legal Limit to Drive

I am lost for words on what to say about this awful story.

A baby boy in Poland was born drunk. Doctors decided to check his blood-alcohol level because his mother was drunk when she arrived to give birth.

What they saw frightened them.

A doctor tells the PAP news agency that 12 hours after he was born, the boy had a blood-alcohol level six times the legal limit for driving. That means he was drunk before he was even born. He weighed five pounds, seven ounces at birth.

Doctors say the baby will likely suffer permanent neurological damage from his mother’s drinking.

Heidi Klum and daughter Leni have fun in sandbox in Malibu yesterday.

I love that Heidi looks good after having 3, but not gaunt like many Hollywood types.

She recently spoke about a weakness she has for sweets, which kept her from being an anorexic model during her Runway days.

“I was never a skinny, skinny type – the more I tried, the worse it was. I’d think about food more than ever,” she said.

“They’d say, ‘You have to lose weight’, and I’d be like, ‘All I can think about is muffins!’ I wasn’t prepared to starve myself to be edgy.”

Having a dog in our house has saved my sanity about a million times. He cleans up all of the food my son throws on the floor and makes him laugh after he’s just bumped his head or fallen down.

Baby Jamz: Toys For Your Hip Hop Lovin Baby

Matthew Knowles, Beyonce’s father, has developed a line of toys directed at kids who love hip music.

The line, titled ‘Baby Jamz‘, is comprised of five toys, including the Mixmaster Chair, and one CD, “Baby Jamz Nursery Rhymes, Vol. 1.

Knowles’ daughter Solange is a featured singer on the CD series, and her son Juelz is the face of Baby Jamz. His image appears on all packaging and in all TV and print ads.

Discussions between Knowles and Planet Toys president/CEO David Canner began nearly a year ago. Knowles pointed to a lack of children’s toys that reflect urban society as the main impetus. “There is a real opportunity for us to make a benchmark here, with Planet Toys making the toys and Music World making the music,” Knowles said.

Canner concurred, adding, “With Baby Jamz, we’re going after that hip-hop mom.”

According to Canner, the second Baby Jamz toy collection will arrive next spring. It will include a “drum machine” that attaches to a car seat.

Looking ahead, Knowles said that Beyonce will be involved musically in upcoming Baby Jamz CDs. He also has plans to evolve Baby Jamz into a kids clothing line, linking it to House of Dereon, the high-end fashion line launched by his wife, Tina, and Beyonce, and its sister line, Dereon, helmed by Beyonce and Solange.

Considering that the initial line is the first round of toys that they have ever developed, they did a pretty good job.

Aside from the fact that the Mixmaster chair is pretty basic, the rest of the line appears to be appealing.

Solanges re-tooling of some of the classic childhood songs works because her voice is so easy to listen to and the lyrics are fun.

It will be interesting to see the second generation of Baby Jamz. They have a good concept that needs to be pushed further in order to keep a toddler’s attention.

Ali Landry Husband Alejandro Gomez Monteverde Welcome Baby Girl

Congratulation to Ali Landry and her husband, film director Alejandro Gomez Monteverde on the safe arrival of their first baby.

Estela arrived just past 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, weighing a healthy 8 lbs., 2 oz.

“Mom and baby are doing great,” Landry’s rep says.

Landry, 33, a former Doritos pitchwoman, most recently appeared in Bella, written, directed and produced by her husband. The film won honors at the Toronto Film Festival.

Landry and Monteverde are “ecstatically happy,” the rep says, “and Estela couldn’t ask for more wonderful, loving parents.”

The couple, who reportedly met at Bible study, were married in April 2006 in Mexico.
