Jayden James In Hawaii

TMZ has posted the first CLEAR photos of Britney Spears’ 8 month old baby Jayden James. She is on vacation in Hawaii enjoying more downtime with the kids and cousin Alli. There has been Suri-like speculation around JJ because he had not been photographed in the 8 months since he was born.

From what I can see he looks exactly like Sean Preston, just smaller. Looking through the pictures it was hard even to differentiate between the two. Jayden is in the printed shorts and hat being carried by Britney’s security in many of the shots.

Life after rehab has been good to her. It’s nice to see her spending quality time with the boys.

Newborn Abandoned On Medicine Hat Door Step

Police were still searching Wednesday for the mother of a newborn baby who was left in a shirt and a bath towel on the doorstep of a southern Alberta home.

“We just want to find the mom,” said Medicine Hat police spokeswoman Cpl. Sandy Mahon. “It’s our No. 1 concern to make sure she’s OK and healthy.”

She said police don’t know if the mother needs medical attention and are focusing their efforts on finding her by checking motels, hotels and homes in the area.

Mahon said it’s too early to tell if charges would be laid.

A neighbour was working in her yard on a quiet, tree-lined street Tuesday when she heard the cries of the abandoned boy, believed to be 24 to 36 hours old.

The residents of the house were on vacation, said Mahon. It was warm and sunny at the time.

The baby was taken to the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital, just two blocks from the house, where he was found to be in good health.

Let’s hope that they find a good home for this baby and that the new parents him treat him well. I will never understand why a new mom abandons a baby on someones doorstep. There are many programs set up to help these women, it’s just a matter of asking for help.

I know I am being hard on someone that I know little about, I just get frustrated when someone has a healthy full term baby and decides to abandon it. If they had any idea how much of a gift they had, maybe they would reconsider and make things work…somehow.

Former Preemie A Musical Genius

An autistic boy who is blind and can barely speak has earned the nickname the ‘human iPod’.

Derek Paravichini can remember and play all the music he encounters on a piano, reports ITN.

He began playing the piano when he was two and started performing at the age of four.

His mentor is Adam Ockleford, who said: “Derek and I first met when he was little – he was about four and a half.

“He just broke away from his parents and pushed a little girl off the piano and played Don’t Cry For Me Argentina.”

Born three months premature and weighing just one and a half pounds, Derek grew up blind and severely autistic.

“We think that because he can’t see and doesn’t understand a lot of what is going on, other parts of his brain have got used for making music – so he’s got a sort of musical factory up there,” Mr Ockleford said.

“For Derek music isn’t just a hobby, it’s a lifeline – it’s his way of communicating with the world, of interrelating with other people and above all of making them happy.

“He likes to make people happy and he knows he can do that through his music.”

Sometimes babies who get a different start in life go on to excel in ways that no one ever predicted. This boy is amazing I hope he continues to do well!

"Baby Robot" Disturbing

Japanese scientists Minoru Asada and Hiroshi Ishiguro (who famously created an android twins of himself), designed a robot called CB2 that weighs 33kg and stands 130cm tall.

It is covered in a grey putty-like silicone skin and the baby bot can roll around, ‘speak’ and even take a few steps if encouraged enough.

It has 197 tactile sensors embedded in its outer layer and 51 compressed air-powered actuators, which allow it to react to touch.

When CB2’s shoulders are tapped, it blinks as if surprised, stops moving, and turns its gaze toward the person who touched it. It will also try and grab a toy dangled in front of it.

Future research at the Japanese Science and Technology Agency in Osaka will attempt to improve the body functions of CB2 – whose full name is ‘Child-robot with Biomimetic Body.’

They also want to write software allowing it to walk and talk like a three-year-old.

It is not it’s purpose that disturbs me, but it’s appearance. I can’t believe that they can design such an intelligent robot and not make it not look creepy. The least they can do is make it’s ‘skin’ flesh coloured. There is video on Youtube that I didn’t post because it is in Japanese and the robot really just babbles like a baby.
