Update: St. Louis Park Couple Expecting Sextuplets

At the end of April I reported on a couple that was expecting their first baby, which turned out to be six first babies. At that time Brianna Morrison was 16 weeks along and a substanstial size.

WCCM.COM is reporting that Brianna has been placed on bedrest at Abbott Northwestern with a due date in October.

Morrison said she’s feeling good, and so, apparently are her little ones.

“They’re pretty active now,” she said. “Just two days ago I felt three of the babies all at the same time which was the first I felt two of them kick at the same time. They’re getting stronger, so the kicks are harder and the punches, but I love it. I love when I wake up at night and I can feel one of them kicking or punching me.”

Morrison isn’t the only one living at the hospital for the remainder of her pregnancy. Her husband, Ryan Morrison, sleeps on an inflatable bed next to her.

He’s also packing up their apartment because their lease is up and will need a new place to stay.

The young couple has a lot going on and through it all they stay strong through their faith. They believe things will turn out just as intended.

Brianna still has a long road ahead of her before her babies are out of harms way. They will all need to stay in until at least 26 weeks for them to have any chance of survival. I can’t imagine how she is feeling…

Joey McIntyre Talks Pregnancy Cravings

Super cute ex-NKOTB er Joey McIntyre talk pregnancy cravings and his excitement about becoming a daddy with People Magazine.

Joey and his wife, Barrett found out they were expecting their first child on St. Patrick’s Day. He said that they are thrilled and that everything is coming together now that they also have a new house.

He goes on to talk about something that most men are very familiar with during pregnancy – cravings!

“She can’t eat chocolate anymore,” McIntyre says. “She keeps saying she loves chocolate, but the baby doesn’t. She used to like chocolate and peanut butter and now she likes potato chips and salty stuff. It’s definitely different.”

But throughout the ups and downs, McIntyre is right by her side. “They do all the work and the husband just has to stand by and roll with the changes,” says the future father with a laugh. “They’re obviously going through a lot. You can’t always figure it out exactly. You just have to be there and available.”

The couple will go out on the road together this summer as part of the Dancing With The Stars tour.

“She’s a little worried about some of the bumpy roads but I’m sure she’ll be fine,” says McIntyre, who will be sure to take care of all the luggage. “I don’t want her to lift anything,” he says. “She’d rather do it herself than ask somebody so it’s frustrating for her to sit back and ask for me to do it.”

We wish them luck in their cross country adventure via tour bus. It will give them time to talk about their unborn child’s future and possible name choices.

Bugaboo Knockoff: First Wheels City ‘Elite’

While on a recent trip to Toys R Us I noticed a stroller on display and was instantly impressed that the mega baby store was now carrying Bugaboo. Upon closer inspection, I realized that the stroller I was admiring was not a Bugaboo, but a ‘First Wheels’ City Elite.

This thing looked so much like a chameleon that I stood there and went over it for at least 10 minutes. In the end, one of the only differences that I could find was the price. This stroller was priced well lower than it’s famous counterpart which immediately made me think of a knock off handbag.

It would be one thing to design a stroller that loosely incorporates some of the great features of your competition, but another to completely copy almost every detail down to the wheel size.

I put together this chart to compare the two strollers. Some of the information is not available for the Bugaboo and I wasn’t able to get a picture of the seat facing the same direction on both strollers.

The First wheels stroller would be perfect for moms who want a nice ride without the steep bottom line.

Trendy, need-to-be-seen moms will still choose the Bugaboo because of it’s strong name and reputation.

The Cameleon comes ahead in the comparison with it’s higher quality canvas fabric, roomier bassinet and extensive colour choices.

At the end of the day every parent has their own list of deal breakers and most of the time it’s price. The average person won’t go through the hassle of doing an indepth comparisson on both strollers before buying, they will choose the one that fits into their budget.
